I'm Back!

Did you miss me? I thought I'd stop in for a quick update. I'm going to try and be a little more consistent in my blogging. Don't expect one everyday but I'll try to at least stop by a few times a month.
So here's what's been happening for the last few months. I enrolled in 11 hours at TCC for the fall. I'm taking Developmental Psychology and Government. I was enrolled in General Chemistry but had to drop the class for a number of reasons. I had missed the first 2 weeks of class while I was on my cruise, so I didn't even know any of the basics. Also, I had never taken chemistry before, not even in high school, and I had chosen to take the more difficult chemistry class. Wrong choice! The reason I chose to take the harder class is that it's required for the bachelors degree, so I thought I'd just get it out of the way now instead of taking the basic chemistry class and then have to go back and take the general chemistry class when I go back for my bachelors. But oh well! I'll just have to take 2 chemistry classes. Developmental psychology and Government were both classes I had to re-take because I had failed one and gotten a D in the other when I had taken them previously. The Dev. psych class I had taken online, which I had never taken an online class before, and I did horrible! Online classes do not work for me! The Government class I think I did badly in it because I just slacked off. It was my 3rd semester at TCC and I was getting lazy. Anyway, I re-took both classes this semester and I MADE THE SAME MISTAKE AS LAST TIME!!!!!!!! I slacked off in my government class and it looks like I'm going to have to re-take it AGAIN!!!! I'm so mad at myself!!! And the thing that stinks even more is that I don't know anything about government, I don't follow politics or even care to. I don't need the class for my major but it's a required class! It's a waste of my time! Ok enough ranting! I just need to adjust my attitude about the class and see it as an opportunity to learn more about our government system and how it works so that I can make more informed decisions when it comes to voting. So it looks like I'm going to have to suck it up and take it again. (Big sigh)I'm planning on starting in the nursing program by fall. Next semester I'll be taking Mircrobiology and Anatomy and I might take Chemistry as a Saturday class, and I hate Saturday classes! But I need to get it out of the way. I was going to take it in the summer but now that I have to re-take government I think I better take it sooner rather than later. In the summer, I'll take Government and Physiology and then I'll be all set to start in the nursing program in the fall!!! Wahoo! I can't wait to start! I need to do better in my classes though instead of just doing as little as I have to.
Ok on to another topic. In September I went on an Alaskan cruise and it was awesome! Are port was in Seattle and I absolutely loved the little bit of the city I saw! My mom and I want to go back to Seattle some time and be able to see all of its sites! I think I had more fun on the boat then I did off the boat though. We only went on one excursion and it was the Alaskan Lumberjack Show and Totem Bights tour. The lumberjack show was hilarious!!! There were two teams: The Alaskan team and the Canadian team. The audience was split up and one half cheered for each team. My family and I were on the side cheering for Alaska, and I must say are guys were much better looking then the other team! ;) According to the host the way you cheer for lumberjacks is by shouting "Yo-ho!" So we were all really getting into it and screaming and cheering "yo-ho!" It was a blast! The Totem Bights tour was ok, it was basically a tour of a bunch of old totem poles and the story behind them. My dad really enjoyed it though! The entire experience was a blast though! My mom and I were roommates and we always have a good time together! Kayleigh and her friend Hannah shared a room and my dad shared a room with his friend Dave. We all kinda did our own thing and met up or ran into each other occasionally. My mom and I did get to see a baby whale! We also saw another whale but just the blowhole. And we saw a sea lion when we were docked in Canada. The ship was amazing! It had 13 restaurants, a movie theatre, a performance theatre, a casino and a gift shop! I can't believe it's only been a few months since the cruise. It feels like it's been ages!
Ironically, it also seems like this year has flown by! I can't believe that Christmas is in 2 1/2 weeks! I still have tons of shopping to do! I love this time of year, despite the financial drain! I love getting gifts for everyone, especially when I know they're going to love what I picked! And I love all the decorations, the music, the cheerfulness! It just amazes me every year! My favorite part though is all the family gatherings! I love being able to see them all, and I wish it wasn't only once or twice a year that we all get together.
Oh, I have one more update before I get off here and get back to work! I've put in an application at St. Francis Hospital for the position of an Assistant Nurse. So I would greatly appreciate any and all prayers that I receive this job! I still love it at ORU and will be sad to leave here, but a job at a hospital will not only be wonderful training but will get my foot in the door for a position there when I actually have my degree! Thank you much! And I'll try to stop by more often! TTFN!

Me again!

Next week I get to go back to being me again! Wahoo! I can't believe it's been two weeks since I last blogged! I've just been to busy to do anything. I've barely had time to check my email. It's been fun though and definitely a good learning experience. It's great being able to help the students and parents out and answer there questions. Unfortunately, there are some students that we just can't do anything to help them no matter how much we wish we could. But even though I enjoyed filling in for Tanya and Sue, it will be nice going back to being me. I miss the slow pace of the teller line sometimes. I'm sure once I spend a week over there I'll be wanting to come back over here because it's too slow! LOL! But I'll actually have time to blog, read my books, do suduko puzzles and other leisurely things again. Yay!

School and Frustations!

Just a quick note. I've changed my mind about what I'm doing as far as going back to school. As soon as I think I have everything worked out as far as school goes, I find something out or figure something out that completley messes up my whole plan. So here's the new plan:
I'm going to go to school at Tulsa Community College and get my associates.
Barring any complications I'm going to finish up school and get my bachelors at ORU or possibly another university that has a good program but isn't quite as expensive.

Here's my reasoning behind this. Although I get to attend ORU with my tuition paid in full, I can only take up to 6 hours a semester. At that rate it would take years for me to get my degree. Secondly, the general fee which I would have to pay myself is 125.00 and then I'd still have to pay for my books. Now I could take as many hours as possible at ORU and pay the difference of the tuition myself, but its $470.00 per hour!!! So I've decided to attend TCC where it is less expensive and I can take more hours because they offer more night classes and Saturday classes. I might actually be able finish school on time by attending TCC. Also, I was looking on line at TCC and found an estimation of the expenses for getting your associates in the nursing program, and for tuition, fees, books, and supplies for the whole time I would be attending it was about $8600.00!!! That's less than one semester at ORU!!!

What I'm going to do though before I make any final decisions is set up an appointment to see the dean of nursing here at ORU and set up an appointment to see a counselor at TCC. Hopefully I'll get everything figured out after I speak with them.

And I thought this would just be a quick note! LOL!

Identity Crisis

The past three weeks I've been having a major identity crisis, and possibly split personalities! I have been Marcia, Lorie, Susan, Tanya, and Sue on top of being me! Some days I was three people at once and others just two. It has been very exhausting and at times a little confusing! Ok maybe it isn't as major as split personalities or an identity crisis. Truth be told all I was doing was filling in for these people while they were/are on vacation and/or sick. It might be tiring at times and I might not feel like I know what I'm doing occassionally but it has been a good learning experience. Especially being Tanya and Sue because it helps me train for that position which is what I'll be moving up to as soon as there is an opening. Wahoo!

You Have a Phlegmatic Temperament

It is difficult to offend you. You can remain composed and unemotional. You are a great friend and lover. You don't demand much of others. While you are quiet, you have a subtle wit that your friends know well.
At your worst, you are lazy and unwilling to work at anything. You often get stuck in a rut, without aspirations or dreams. You can get too dependent on others, setting yourself up for abandonment.

Thank goodness for pool boys and boarding school!

On Monday I went over to Aunt Kahri's house to help her get her pool going. She had been having many complications with the pool and had to end up getting a new motor, new hosing to connect the motor to the pump and had been running all over town for stuff for the pool all week. We hooked the motor up and connected the pump and motor with the hose but we didn't have any o-rings to secure the hose on, so we just left the hose on there as it was for now. After we finished with that we went to the garage to work on putting together the ladder for the pool. We ended up having to go back outside to measure the pool so that we had the correct lengths for the ladder. After we had measured Kahri and I walked over to the pump and she decided to turn it on so that the pool could get circulating. Well she had forgotten that we didn't have the o-rings on and the hose flew off and we both got sprayed with water!!! We were cracking up! And as we walked back to the garage Kahri said, "I love my pool, but I don't like pool maintenance. It's the same with children. I love my children, but I don't always like raising them." And I replied, "Well, that's what pool boys and boarding school are for!"

Tackle It Tuesday

I decided to join in on Tackle It Tuesdays, because I have lots of things to tackle!!! This week I'm going to be tackling my room. I don't have any pictures at the moment because I just now decided to join in but I will take pictures tonight and edit them in tomorrow. Just an advanced warning, be prepared to see a disaster area!!!

The first thing I'm going to start off doing is my laundry. I'm going to get all of my clean clothes that are sitting in my laundry baskets and put them away and get my dirty laundry washed and put away. Next, I'm going to work on my floor. I'll probably start off with just making piles according to where I want that stuff to go and then leave the piles there while I work on cleaning off my bookshelf and coffee table because I know I'll have more stuff to add to the piles as I clean off those. Once I have my bookshelf and coffee looking the way I want then I'll work on the piles in the floor. And once I've completed that I'll work on my closet. I'm going to take the stuff on the shelf in my closet and put them into a few tubs that I bought and I'm going to put my extra bedding that I have in XL Ziploc bags on that shelf instead. Also, I'm going to try to get my room painted this weekend. I'm not sure if that's going to happen yet or not. I think that's all for now. Remember to check back for my before pictures of my tornado struck room! LOL!

Update: I keep forgetting to take pictures of my room and post them. I will do my best to remember to take them and have them posted by tomorrow.

8 Random Facts

I was tagged by Aunt Kahri to write 8 random facts about me. So here I go.

1. I think that a nice, juicy steak and a tall glass of orange juice are a perfect combination!
2. I always have to have music playing. If I don't have access to music then I'll make my own by singing.
3. I busted my chin four different times as a child and never got stitches.
4. The first time I ever had stitches was about 4 years ago. I sliced through the tendon on my left middle finger cutting the plastic wrap off a whole chicken. The stitches were in a U shape and the doctor told me that I just needed to put two dots above the stitches and then when I flipped someone off my finger would be smiling at them! LOL! But of course I don't make such hand gestures!
5. I change my signature every few years. I'm actually thinking about changing it again.
6. I'm very neurotic about ceratain things. For instance, it bothers me when people leave cabinet doors open or when someone doesn't turn the light off when they leave the room.
7. I tell my mom every day that it is my birthday! She never gets many anything though! :(
LOL!
Ok one more. Think, think, think. I got it!
8. My senior year of high school I was put in in-school suspension for skipping school and I liked being in there more than being in class because I would get all of my work for the day at once and I could work on it and have it all finish in the morning and have the rest of the day to read my books! If it were up to me I would've stayed in there the whole year! LOL!

And there you have it ladies and gentlemen!
